Many opportunities are given for the pupils to practise their knowledge and to compare and contrast the Jewish religion with other religions that they may know.
The topic looks at the synagogue including the names of the different features inside it. The topic also covers the Torah scrolls and how they are removed from the Ark, the role and dress of the rabbi, how Jews pray, the Torah, the Books of Law, the Prophets and writings. The students have the opportunity to discuss, compare and contrast the Synagogue with other religious buildings that they may know. Assessment is included.
