Hinduism - The Mandir and Puja
EDpaX - Hinduism - Some Sacred Symbols - This topic teaches how to understand The Mandir and Puja. It consists of 35 teaching pages with associated pupil activities full of information including bright, colourful photos/images. Each page is accompanied by extensive Teacher’s Notes to support the teacher when teaching Hinduism in the classroom. Many opportunities are given for the pupils to practise their knowledge and to compare and contrast the Hindu religion with other religions that they may know. The topic looks at different Mandirs and discusses where Hindus can perform puja i.e. at home, in the street, in a Mandir. The topic also covers inside a Mandir, the Brahmin or priest of the Mandir and his duties within the Mandir including puja. The pupils have the opportunity to discuss, compare and contrast the Mandir with other religious buildings that they may know. Assessment is included.
