EDpaX - Hinduism - Holi Festival - This topic teaches about the Holi Festival. It consists of 34 teaching pages with associated pupil activities full of information including bright, colourful photos/images. Many opportunities are given for the pupils to practise their knowledge and to compare and contrast the Hindu religion with other religions that they may know. The topic explores the festival of Holi which last for five days. It introduces the story of Holika Dahan and the burning of Holika on the bonfire. It also looks at the birth of Krishna and Krishna as a young man. The topic includes three stories about Krishna: The Birth of Krishna, The Serpent King and The Govardhan Mountain. The topic shows the celebration of Holi in India which is supported by colourful, real life photos. Assessment is included.
